If the weight of the Thanksgiving weekend has still got you all sleepy and hefty, here are some helpful tips to make sure that you can get the weight off and have fun doing it. While it is true that working out is no fun most of the time, here are some ways to get those turkey gizzards and gravy boats worked out of your system.

Prepare for the next holiday. Yes, it is true that Christmas is now just around the corner. If you haven’t checked lately, the gift giving season is less than a month away. So this is the perfect time to put up your holiday lights and lose some weight. Putting up your lights can be a workout if you know how to do it. First off, all of your lights had better be in a big, tangled mess of a ball from the previous season (or you just aren’t trying). Untangling these lights can become a workout of your brains, brawn and vocabulary as you come up with new and interesting ways to swear at yourself for not detangling it the year before. When you get them untangled, you can then work out your muscles by trying to balance yourself on top of your house or ladder while hanging the lights and not falling to your untimely death.

If you are not the light hanging sort of person, you can always get out of that Thanksgiving funk by going paintballing. Paintballing with the family after the holidays can get all of that pent up rage that you feel for them out of your body and let you shoot them with a paint ball gun. This pseudo-sport will let you run around a field or an arena and that will constitute exercise, though you will probably forget all about it while trying to hit Aunt Doris in the face with a paintball.

If you actually like your family, then perhaps taking a walk with all of them is more up your alley. What better way to get rid of some of that turkey fat and stuffing overload than by taking a nice afternoon stroll with the entire family? And if you all get bundled up in the same outfits, others can drive by and resent and mock your family’s closeness with each other. But you won’t care, because you will be exercising away those Thanksgiving pounds and be doing it with your favorite family members by your side.
